You Can Open Doors of Opportunities

Learning in the kitchenFor 65 years, the Concordia Educational Foundation (CEF) has provided financial assistance to students attending Concordia Lutheran High School (CLHS). The mission statement of CEF reads “through God’s grace, the Concordia Educational Foundation works to preserve and grow financial gifts to Concordia Lutheran High School to ensure the Foundation’s continued support of the school’s overall operations, individual programs and students’ financial needs.”

Currently 396 students at our high school receive financial aid through our family of endowments at CEF. That is over 2/3 of our student body for whom the CLHS experience is made possible by the generosity of those who have supported the work of CEF over the course of the past 64 years. It is important to note that CEF is not part of Concordia Lutheran High School’s organizational structure. Operating as its own entity and as a 501(c)3 of the State of Indiana, CEF is governed by its own Board of Directors who make decisions on how to best serve the high school through the investment portfolio God has blessed them with.

CEF is structured to provide financial assistance to CLHS in other important areas as well. We currently steward 47 special endowments for donors who wish to leave a specific legacy for students and staff at CLHS. These special endowments provide financial support for specific departments like JROTC, Media Arts, Drama, Band, Math, and Technology. This academic year, funds from these special endowments purchased new Kitchenaid mixers for the Culinary Arts, sewing supplies for the Textiles class, photos for the Drama Department, NCTM membership for the Math department, professional development opportunities for faculty, and various trips for academic competitions.

We also have 39 general endowments that provide overall financial support for CLHS. These unrestricted funds allow the Board and leadership at our high school the needed flexibility to utilize these funds in the areas of greatest impact. Your help in growing the special and general endowments to further enhance the student experience and empower our dedicated staff is greatly appreciated!
