From 1974–1981, Phil Eschels taught history and government at the high school. Today, he’s teaching new generations about the greater good of giving. His recent gifts support Concordia’s mission in many ways, including ensuring faculty excellence and healthy compensation—critical to our sustainability—and a leadership gift in our auditorium sound project.

Tim Benecke, who participated in the scholarship interview process, was pleased with the results. He and his wife, Diane, know that their endowed scholarships will make a difference for a family and their student through the scholarship they will fund annually. Support Encourages Student Success

Concordia Lutheran High School sent its 84th graduating class out to colleges and careers; 98 percent of these students received financial aid. Many of those scholarships came from endowments created over the years by alumni and friends of Concordia. Additional support came through gifts given this year specifically for tuition assistance. These gifts have helped many families ensure that their sons and daughters received that Christ-centered, quality education that is the standard and will remain the standard for the next years.

Then, think about the seven storage units, a house and safe deposit boxes these special items needed, to be protected and kept handy for when the owner wanted to look at them, trade them or sell them.

Generosity Flourishes During the New Norm

It's no secret that we've all been dealing with the "new norm" as a result of the pandemic. Yet, so many have continued to take advantage of the financial tools available to be good stewards of the blessings we all have received from God. Recently, we received the remainder of an IRA as one of the beneficiaries. The gentleman, who remembered Concordia Lutheran High School and valued CLHS, made sure that he shared some of his blessings so that our students could receive financial aid.
